Design of Networked Wireless Transceivers

This video series will illustrate the use of Simulink and Model-Based Design to create a network of wireless transceivers. The models include the physical layer (PHY) and the media access control (MAC) layer for simulation of a multi-node wireless network. The videos demonstrate a step-by-step workflow using Fixed-Point Designer™ and HDL Coder™ to generate the HDL code for SDR implementation of the wireless transceivers, configuration of a multi-node SDR network, and measurement of the real throughputs between the nodes. Finally, it presents a model of full 802.11a OFDM PHY and MAC. These examples demonstrate the capability of Simulink and the efficiency of Model-Based Design for wireless transceiver development, from system level modeling to FPGA bit stream generation for hardware prototyping.
