“Working with Habitat for Humanity was a great volunteer event. My team had fun designing, painting, and assembling our playhouse. It was for a great cause; it was for the child of a US Veteran. At the end of the day we were able to present the playhouse to a 6 year-old boy. It was very rewarding to see him explore his new playhouse.”

“In the Bytes and Beats day camp, my daughter got to learn MATLAB, and also had fun creating music. It was inspiring to see middle school kids solve problems by trial and error. They all worked hard to optimize their code to play a song composed in MATLAB for their classmates. I love that she was exposed to programming and got to learn to use an Arduino board. Bytes and Beats has ignited an even larger interest in STEM topics for my daughter, including computer science.”

“During school vacation, MathWorks offers a day camp that introduces school children to STEM careers. Pixels to Pictures was a great experience for my son. He had the opportunity to channel his creativity into programming and art. At the end of each day we talked about what projects he worked on and the different aspects of programming and animation he learned that day. I enjoyed sharing in his opportunity to learn by doing, failing, trying again, and succeeding the tenth time.”
