This week we are taking a break from Simulink features and capabilities to take a step back and look at the history of simulations.

What Is Simulation?

Sometimes it is good to take a step back and remember why we do simulations in the first place. What is simulation? What kind of problems can simulations help us solve? What kind of questions can simulations answer?

Who better to explain all that than a person who is not only a Simulink expert, but has also used simulations extensively for solving interesting and challenging engineering problems like designing aautopilot for Apollo Lunar Moduleand developing a digital flight control system for forward-swept wingX-29 aircraft。He even wrote a book titledNumerical Computing with Simulink!
