Users matlab crashing after windows update to 21H1

I don't use matlab nor do I know how to but I am an installer of it and I'm getting several reports from users that their matlab is crashing after a windows OS update to Windows 10 21H1. This is across many different version of matlab (from 2012 to 2021) and it's upon opening, accessing the documentation or graphing. We found some people can use a workaround for this (open matlab in command window with the
"matlab -softwareopenglmesa" command)
but that doesn't fix everyone. This is a work stoppage for our group because so many people use matlab. I've updated display divers, BIOS, program drivers, etc to the latest versions Dell provides but that hasn't fixed the issues either.

I'm using various MATLAB versions on Windows 21H1 when it was released (Asus zenbook), so far so good.
